Our Mission

Bernedoodle Kennel Club exists to promote and guide the ethical development of the Bernedoodle through science-based breed standards, comprehensive health testing requirements, and transparent, data-driven breeding practices.

We believe Bernedoodles are uniquely suited to modern life, thriving in cities, suburbs, and family homes alike. Their temperament makes them exceptional therapy dogs, service dogs, emotional support animals, and everyday companions.

Why This Matters

The doodle industry has grown rapidly, but standards have not kept pace. Many breeders make decisions based on breed percentages rather than actual genetic data. The result: inconsistent coats, unpredictable temperaments, and health issues that could have been prevented with proper testing.

Bernedoodle Kennel Club sets a higher bar: one built on the same foundation of rigor that organizations like GANA have established for Goldendoodles, and that ALAA and WALA have established for Australian Labradoodles.

Our History

Founded to create an established Breed Standard in the Bernedoodle community. Breeders with over a decade of experience have come together to establish guidelines and resources for those researching whether a Bernedoodle is right for them and how to adopt, equipped with the right knowledge and support to make an informed decision.

We have worked with experts in the industry to gather information and support for those starting out on their Bernedoodle journey.
